Snake Gourd Seeds

Snake Gourd Seeds

Grow something really unusual!  Gourds belong to the same plant family as pumpkins and courgettes. Gourds are not edible, instead they are grown as decorative items, particularly at Halloween.  The fruits produced by the snake gourd plant are long and thin, hence their name!  In the autumn they can be dried out and painted.

Sow seeds inside in April-May, and then put them into larger pots as they grow bigger.  Plant them outside in the ground in May-June when all the frosts have gone.  Plant them in a sunny spot and give them lots of water.
